Problem Statement
Technical Mastery Assessments involved essay questions which are manually graded by Field Technical Specialists
Responses were collected via MS Forms, graded in MS Documents.
Process involved 16 MS Forms, 16 automations, and manual Excel tracking.
Workflow was tedious, error-prone, and led to data gaps.
Solution
Essay Submission App for Technicians:
Pulls questions from a secure question bank to ensure truly randomized questions for every essay generated.
Embedded in the existing Storyline quiz for easier access and usability.
Long-answer questions/essays require manual grading and are accessed via the embedded PowerApp within the storyline quiz.

Grader App:
Collects responses from essays, provides correct answers, and user responses.
Facilitates easy grading without any gray areas.
Allows graders to add comments to support their grading process or share feedback with the technician.
Data Management:
All data collected and stored MS List, separate from the LMS.
Data is easily accessible by the graders through the apps, without ever using the heavy data based list.
Tracking and Automation:
Graders are notified of a new essay as soon as a new essay is submitted for grading via MS teams and a task is created in their planner.
Essays' status (submitted, in grading, completed) is tracked in an MS List automatically as and when the process gets completed in the app.
Upon marking a technician as passed or failed, an automation sends an email to the technician and their manager with the result. Another automation marks the task in the grader’s planner to avoid tracking on multiple platforms.
Includes a passing certificate if the technician passes, completing the grading process.
